AUBUSSON TAPISSERIES
In the 15th century in central France and the town of Aubusson located in the banks of the river Greuse carpets and famous tapestries were produced. The patterns are usually classic with pale coloring. Royalty and aristocrats used them in their castles and usually found in big sizes. Smaller sizes can be found also but they are considered extremely rare. In 1786 during and inventory check in the Versailles more than 100 Aubusson carpets were found.
